GUARDIAN ANGELS BY DR. HONEY LOVE
What is an angel
In Islam, angels
(Arabic: ملاًئِكة malā'ikah) are celestial beings, created from a luminous
origin by God to perform certain tasks he has given them. Islam acknowledges
the concept of angels both as anthropomorphic and abstract. The angels from the
angelic realm are subordinates in a hierarchy headed by one of the archangels
in the highest heavens. Belief in angels is one of the six articles of faith in
Islam.
What’s guardian angel
A guardian angel is an
angel that is assigned to protect and guide a particular person, group,
kingdom, or country. Belief in guardian angels can be traced throughout all
antiquity.
The concept of angels
that guard over particular people and nationalities played a common role in
Ancient Judaism, while a theory of tutelary angels and their hierarchy was
extensively developed in Christianity in the 5th century by Pseudo-Dionysius
the Areopagite.
The theology of angels
and tutelary spirits has undergone many refinements since the 5th century.
Belief in both the East and the West is that guardian angels serve to protect
whichever person God assigns them to,[1] and present prayer to God on that
person's behalf
Angel Types in Islam
Types of Muslim Angels
angels -- spiritual
beings who love God and help carry out His will on Earth -- as one of its core
pillars of faith. The Qur’an says that God has made more angels than human
beings, since groups of angels guard every individual person among the billions
of people on Earth: “For each person, there are angels in succession, before
and behind him. They guard him by the Command of Allah [God],” (Al Ra’d 13:11).
That’s a lot of
angels! Understanding how God has organized the angels he has created can help
you begin to grasp their purposes. The major religions of Judaism,
Christianity, and Islam have all come up with angelic hierarchies. Here’s a
look at who’s who among Muslim angels:
Islam’s angelic
hierarchy isn’t as detailed as the ones in Judaism and Christianity, and
Islamic scholars say that’s because the Qur’an doesn’t directly describe a
detailed angelic hierarchy, so general organizational guidelines are all that’s
necessary. Islamic scholars place the archangels that the Qur’an mentions at
the top, with other angels named by the Qur’an underneath and differentiated by
the types of missions God gives them to do.
The Archangels
Archangels are the
highest-ranking angels that God has created. They rule over the universe’s
daily operation, while also sometimes visiting human beings to deliver messages
from God to them.
Muslims consider
archangel Gabriel to be the most important of all angels, since Islam’s
founder, the prophet Muhammad, said that Gabriel appeared to him to dictate the
entire Qur’an. In Al Baqarah 2:97, the Qur’an declares: "Who is an enemy
to Gabriel! For he brings down the [revelation] to thy heart by God's will, a
confirmation of what went before, and guidance and glad tidings for those who
believe." In the Hadith, a collection of the Islamic prophet Muhammad’s
traditions, Gabriel again appears to Muhammad and quizzes him about Islam’s
tenets. Gabriel communicates with other prophets, too, say Muslims -- including
all of the prophets that Muslims accept as true. Muslims believe that Gabriel
gave the prophet Abraham a stone known as the Black Stone of Kaaba; Muslims who
travel on pilgrimages to Mecca, Saudi Arabia kiss that stone.
The archangel Michael
is another top-ranking angel in the Islamic angelic hierarchy. Muslims view
Michael as an angel of mercy and believe that God has assigned Michael to
reward righteous people for the good, they do during their earthly lifetimes.
God also charges Michael with sending rain, thunder, and lightning to the
Earth, according to Islam. The Qur’an mentions Michael when it warns in
Al-Baqarah 2:98: “Whoever is an enemy to God and his angels and his apostles,
to Gabriel and Michael -- lo! God is an enemy to those who reject the faith.”
Another top-ranking
angel in Islam is Archangel Raphael. The Hadith names Raphael (who is called
“Israfel” or “Israfil” in Arabic) as the angel who will blow a horn to announce
that Judgment Day is coming. The Qur’an says in chapter 69 (Al Haqqah) that
horn’s first blow will destroy everything, and in chapter 36 (Ya Sin) it says
that humans who have died will come back to life at the second blow. Islamic
tradition says that Raphael is a master of music who sings praises to God in
heaven in more than 1,000 different languages.
The unnamed archangels
who are referred to in Islam as the Hamalat al-Arsh and who carry God’s throne
are also high on the Islamic angelic hierarchy. The Qur’an mentions them in
chapter 40 (Ghaffir), verse 7: “Those who sustain the throne [of God] and those
around it sing glory and praise to their Lord; believe in him; and implore
forgiveness for those who believe: ‘Our Lord! Thy reach is over all things, in
mercy and knowledge. Forgive, then, those who turn in repentance, and follow
thy path; and preserve them from the penalty of the blazing fire!’”
The angel of death,
who Muslims believe separates each person’s soul from his or body at the moment
of death, completes the top-ranking angels in Islam. Islamic tradition says
that archangel Azrael is the angel of death, although in the Qur’an, he is
referred to by his role ("Malak al-Maut," which literally means
"angel of death") rather than by his name: "The Angel of Death
who is charged with taking your souls will take your souls; then you will be
returned to your Lord." (As-Sajdah 32:11).
Lower-Ranking Angels
Islam groups the angels underneath
those archangels together, differentiating them according to the different jobs
they perform at God’s command. Some of the lower-ranking angels include:
Angel Ridwan is in
charge of maintaining Jannah (paradise or heaven). The Hadith mentions Ridwan
as the angel who guards paradise. The Qur’an describes in chapter 13 (a-Ra'd)
verses 23 and 24 how the angels that Ridwan leads in paradise will welcome
believers as they arrive: "Gardens of perpetual bliss: they shall enter
there, as well as the righteous among their fathers, their spouses, and their
offspring: and angels shall enter unto them from every gate [with the
salutation]: 'Peace unto you for that ye persevered in patience! Now how
excellent is the final home!'"
Angel Malik supervises
19 other angels who guard Jahannam (hell) and punish the people there. In
chapter 43 (Az-Zukhruf) verses 74 to 77 of the Qur’an, Malik tells the people
in hell that they must remain there: "Surely, the disbelievers will be in
the torment of hell to abide therein forever. [The torment] will not be
lightened for them, and they will be plunged into destruction with deep
regrets, sorrows and in despair therein. We wronged them not, but they were the
wrongdoers. And they will cry: 'O Malik! Let your Lord make an end of us!' He
will say: 'Surely, you shall abide forever.' Indeed, we have brought the truth
to you, but most of you have a hatred for the truth."
Two angels called the
Kira man Katibin (honorable recorders) pay attention to everything that people
past puberty think, say, and do; and the one who sits on their right shoulders
records their good choices while the angel who sits on their left shoulders
records their bad decisions, says the Qur’an in chapter 50 (Qaf), verses 17-18.
Guardian angels who
pray for and help protect each human being are also among the lower-ranking
angels in the Islamic angelic hierarchy
How do I know my Guardian Angel? – The Basics
Before we jump
straight into exploring those, let’s take a look at some basic information
surrounding Guardian Angels. What is my Guardian Angel’s name? You may find
that this question is repeating itself over and over again in your mind. But
what is a Guardian Angel? We all have angels watching over us but a
Guardian Angel plays a slightly more personal role: they are with us from birth
until death and likely beyond.
Feeling drawn towards
your Guardian Angel always symbolizes the beginnings of spiritual change!
If you’re feeling an
inner calling to search for your Guardian Angel, to learn their name, and to
communicate with them in new and exciting ways, then you might be taking your
first steps along your spiritual journey.
Your Guardian Angel is
waiting for you to reach out to them! Would you like to know who your

What does my guardian angel mean?
There is some debate
as to who is your Guardian Angel. Some people view the Archangels we are
connected with at birth as our Guardian Angels while others view us as having
an angel whose sole purpose is watching over us throughout our lives. We are
going to explore both options.
My Guardian Angel Name
If it is true that God
tasks an angel to watch over us from birth then you’re likely to be curious as
to whom this angel is. As there are an unknown number of angels, there are also
an unknown number of names.
There is a fairly
straightforward technique you can use though which should hopefully answer the
question: who is my guardian angel?
Who is my Guardian Angel and How do I pray to my guardian angel?
Let’s explore that now
the steps that will help you to identify him:
Step 1
The first thing you
want to do is go out into nature. For this technique, you want to be somewhere
peaceful, quiet and undisturbed. If there are some empty fields or some woods
then either of these would be perfect.
The further away from
the hustle and bustle of city life, you can get the better. Hearing cars or
sirens will disrupt your goal here.
Once you find your
spot, you want to remove any restrictions to your body such as watches, bags,
tight jackets, hats, etc. If you’re wearing socks and shoes then removing these
can allow a natural flow of energy.
Step 2
You can either stand
or sit for this step. Simply do whichever feels most comfortable. Take a few
deep breaths as if you were beginning to meditate and allow all your thoughts
and troubles to simply leave your mind, body, and spirit.
The clearer you mind
can become here, the more likely that your angel will communicate with you. As
you take a few more deep breaths, allow your consciousness to expand and begin to
reach out beyond the physical world.
Step 3
The final step is to
reach out to your Guardian Angel. You can repeat “who is my Guardian Angel?”
over and over in your head or alternatively if you’ve reached out to your
Guardian Angel before then you can ask them directly.
You can speak out loud
or simply use your inner voice. Continue to take deep breaths and allow your
mind to remain empty. A name will come to you: it may be immediately or you may
have to be patient.
Don’t force a name to
appear and don’t create one in your mind, simply allow it to appear.
If you’re still
wondering: who is my Guardian Angel, Then this method may be your best
approach. Some people are of the belief that we are born under the wing
of an Archangel and that this angel is our Guardian Angel.
Finding your guardian
angel’s name under these circumstances is drastically easier as there are only
12 Archangels to choose from and each is connected to a zodiac sign.
What are the names of
the 12 archangels And Who is my Guardian Angel?
So by knowing your
date of birth or your zodiac sign allows you to also know the Archangel that is
your Guardian angel.
December
23rd and January 20th is the zodiac sign of
Capricorn and your corresponding Archangel is Azrael;January
21st and February 19th makes you an Aquarius and
your Guardian Angel would be Uriel;February 20th and March

don’t give up on asking your other angels for guidance
Belief in Angel Dr. honey love
In common folklore,
angels are thought of as good forces of nature, hologram images, or illusions.
Western iconography sometimes depicts angels as fat cherubic babies or handsome
young men or women with a halo surrounding their head.
In Islam, they are real
created beings who will eventually suffer death, but are generally hidden from
our senses. They are not divine or semi-divine, and they are not God’s
associates running different districts of the universe. Also, they are not
objecting to be worshipped or prayed to, as they do not deliver our prayers to
God. They all submit to God and carry out His commands.
In the Islamic
worldview, there are no fallen angels: they are not divided into ‘good’ and
‘evil’ angels. Human beings do not become angels after death. Satan is not a
fallen angel, but is one of the jinn, a creation of God parallels to human
beings and angels.
Angels were created from light
Angels were created
from light before human beings were created, and thus their graphic or symbolic
representation in Islamic art is rare. Nevertheless, they are generally
beautiful beings with wings as described in Muslim scripture. Angels form
different cosmic hierarchies and orders in the sense that they are of different
size, status, and merit.
The greatest of them
is Gabriel. Muhammad (pbuh) actually saw him in his original form. Also, the
attendants of God’s Throne are among the greatest angels. They love the
believers and beseech God to forgive them their sins. They carry the Throne of
God, about whom the Prophet Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be
upon him, said:
“I have been given
permission to speak about one of the angels of God who carry the Throne. The
distance between his ear-lobes and his shoulders is equivalent to a
seven-hundred-year journey.”
Angels do not eat or
drink. The angels do not get bored or tired of worshipping God:
“They celebrate His
praises night and day, nor do they ever slacken.” (Quran 21:20)
The Number of Angels
How many angels there
are? Only God knows. The Much-Frequented House is a sacred heavenly sanctuary
above the Kaaba, the black cube in the city of Mecca. Every day seventy
thousand angels visit it and leave, never returning to it again, followed by
another group.
The Names of Angels
Muslims believe in
specific angels mentioned in the Islamic sources like Jibreel (Gabriel),
Mika’eel (Michael), Israfeel, Malik – the guard over Hell, and others. Of
these, Gabriel and Michael are also mentioned in the Bible.
Angelic Abilities
The angels possess
great powers given to them by God. They can take on different forms. The Muslim
scripture describes how at the moment of Jesus’ conception, God sent Gabriel to
Mary in the form of a man:
“…Then We sent to her
Our angel, and he appeared before her as a man in all respects.” (Quran 19:17)
Angels also visited
Abraham in human form. Similarly, angels came to Lot to deliver him from danger
in the form of handsome, young men. Gabriel used to visit Prophet Muhammad in
different forms. Sometimes, he would appear in the form of one of his handsome
disciples, and sometimes in the form of a desert Bedouin. Angels have the
ability to take human forms in some circumstances involving common people.
Gabriel is God’s
heavenly messenger to mankind. He would convey the revelation from God to His
human messengers. God says:
“Say: whoever is an
enemy to Gabriel – for he brings down the (revelation) to your heart by God’s
will…” (Quran 2:97)
Tasks of the Angels
Some angels are put in
charge of executing God’s law in the physical world. Michael is responsible for
rain, directing it wherever God wishes. He has helpers who assist him by the
command of his Lord; they direct the winds and clouds, as God wills. Another is
responsible for blowing the Horn, which will be blown by Israafeel at the onset
of the Day of Judgment. Others are responsible for taking souls out of the
bodies at the time of death: The Angel of Death and his assistants. God says:
“Say: The Angel of
Death, put in charge of you, will (duly) take your souls, then shall you be
brought back to your Lord.” (Quran 32:11)
Then there are
guardian angels responsible for protecting the believer throughout his life, at
home or traveling, asleep or awake. Others are responsible for recording the
deeds of man, good and bad. These are known as the “honorable scribes.” Two
angels, Munkar and Nakeer, are responsible for testing people in the grave.
Among them are keepers of Paradise and the nineteen ‘guards’ of Hell whose
leader is named ‘Malik.’ There are also angels responsible for breathing the
soul into the fetus and writing down its provisions, life-span, actions, and
whether it will be wretched or happy. Some angels are roamers, traveling around
the world in search of gatherings where God is remembered. There are also
angels constituting God’s heavenly army, standing in rows, they never get tired
or sit down, and others who bow or prostrate, and never raise their heads,
always worshiping God.
In summary, the
position in Islam is that angels are a grandiose creation of God, varying in
numbers, roles, and abilities. God is in no need of these creatures, but having
knowledge and belief in them adds to the awe that one feels towards God, in
that He is able to create as He wishes, for indeed the magnificence of His
creation is a proof to believers of the magnificence of the Creator.
